Week 11 of 2012 was a lovely week for me My first trip to the movies in about 18 months, some fun times with my boys, and a visit from some very dear friends.

Sawyer and I had some fun with the Photobooth app on my iPhone – it turned out to be a great way to keep him amused and I love the pictures I ended up with!

Some friends arrived to stay with us on Thursday so I ended up with so many pictures I decided to do an insert. As I decided to do the insert in black and white, I chose some of the pictures that looked good in colour to go in the normal PL page above.

I love how the insert turned out. I used Instagram for all of the photos and then just dropped them into an 8×6 photoshop layered template. I printed the photo block and the journalling separately and then stuck them together to fit into the 6×12 page protector. Really pleased with how it turned out.

I also had a second insert this week with Sawyer’s first bit of art from daycare – a St Patrick’s Day card. I don’t have anything for the back yet but I took so many photos last week I’m sure I will think of something to put there!

Welcome to Project Life Tuesday! I am linking up again via The Mom Creative for my weekly Project Life update.

Week 10 already. Last week I commented on how fast the week had gone but it seems that the year is zipping past too!

Another busy week for us with vaccinations and starting solid food for little Sawyer, some big news from my favourite shop and an exciting trip to the tip for Flynnie.

I tried to add a bit more of my stuff this week – I think that when you have young children they tend to dominate any kind of project like this and I want this to be about the whole family and not just the boys. So there is some journalling about the books we have chosen for Book Club this month, and about how my favourite shop has decided to close its doors. I also talked about the death of the conventional camera – 95% of my photos for Project Life this year have been taken on my iPhone.

The second page told the story of Sawyer’s 4 month vaccinations (which I’m very thankful to be over with!) and also a special trip for Flynnie and Neal to the tip to see the monster diggers.

I used an 8×8 insert again this week:

On the first side I put a screen grab of this blog – blogging is still very new to me and I am still getting the hang of it.

On the reverse side I put one of the photo collages I have been working on recently – I have made them for 2011 and 2010 so far. I am printing them out at 12×12 and framing them for the wall of my craft room. I love the way they sum up the year.

A busy week with lots going on! I did ‘A Day in the Life’ on the 29th Feb, which I’ve blogged about already so I won’t go into it again here, except to say that it was great fun and I took a lot of photos that I would never think of taking normally, like my little boy going down the front steps of our house with his daycare backpack on, and our grocery shopping. These things will be so interesting to look back at.

I’m still continuing with the mixture of digital and handwritten. I like the digital journalling a lot but really want to make sure there is still a bit of handwriting in there somewhere!

I am using a few different journalling cards that I have found on the internet, mostly via Pinterest.

I had two inserts this week – one 8.5×11 with the Day in the Life pictures and a mosaic of February photos on the other side:

I’m really liking how the mosaics are turning out and plan to do one every month.

I also did a couple of very simple digital scrapbooking pages of the boys:

A good place to visit next would be my friend Sharon’s blog; The Projects of my Life. This is the first year I have had a friend doing Project Life too and it is great!

By the second week I was already loving it! I was taking almost all of my photos on my iphone and was loving the freedom of not lugging a camera around with me everywhere.

Looking back now over the last 9 weeks, I think that being able to take photos on my phone is what has made PL so much easier and more enjoyable this year.

Using apps like Diptic and Momento has also simplified the process.

2012 is my second year doing Project Life. I fell off the PL wagon in  the middle of last year, so the middle portion of the album is mainly photos which I have added since (I take a LOT of photos anyway, so even though I stopped doing PL, I luckily didn’t stop taking photos). I started again when my baby was born at the end of October.

Because I didn’t manage to complete last year in the way I wanted to, I decided to stay with the POTD format for 2012, just to prove to myself that I can do it!

Week one has 8 days as I want the weeks to run monday-sunday so the weekends days are together.
